Victoria Carolina Villela Project Runway Moda Winner

My name is Victoria Carolina Villela. I’m eighteen years old and just graduated from high school in December 2009, a semester early.  During high school I attended classes at Pima Community College in the Fashion Design department.

I began sewing when I was 10 years old but it was at Pima where I gained my love for sewing. I have been attending Pima, part time, for almost three years.  Last year, in the PCC Fashion Show I won Best in Originality for one of my designs.

I am inspired by a number of things depending on the time of year and my mood. But over all I try to create garments with a fantastic fit and not only bring out the best in the fabric but also make the person who wears my design feel beautiful.

I decided to compete in Moda Provocateur because I think it’s wonderful that I am able to do what I love and at the same time support the community and the SAAF.
